After Hurricane Laura hit Southern Louisiana, a small T&D Cooperative was left with extensive damage.
The Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative in Southern Louisiana had 5 of their substations decimated after being hit by a hurricane, and the transmissions lines would need to be completely rebuilt.
Taking into account the damage to the substations, they decided instead of rushing to rebuild, the would look at alternatives to keep their customers energized for approximately 6 months while they developed a more resilient grid system than before.
This case study discusses how Aggreko stepped in to help power the homes of JDEC's customers during this time.
